“We started growing with listeners each and every day,” chief executive Richfield said. “You’d see the numbers go up, and then you’d start getting bands hitting you up.”
That band contact is what created KZKO.
“We started to broadcast artists across the nation, which all of the sudden became a really big thing,” he said. As they started to stream live performances of bands online, the station really came into its own.
KZKO is classified as a top-40 radio station, but beyond the label it has a large variety of genres, including classic rock, jazz, hip hop and funk.
